MY FIRST TIME SEEING THE SUN RISE IN CHICAGO: 7 YEARS TOO LATE
A couple of weeks ago a few up-and-coming Chicago Instagram accounts ( @shotzxfired, @the.shutter.life, @the.re.up) hosted a sunrise photography good times meet up down at North Avenue beach generating, for the first time since I moved here in late 2009, an excuse for me to wake my ass up at 4am and catch the sun coming up over the mighty Lake Michigan.
Was I alone?! Absolutely not! There were dozens of other groggy photographers and models there making the most of a lovely morning.
I'm still not the greatest at getting into the mix in these situations, but compared to my first couple of meet ups where I chilled in any corner I could find, there's definite progress!
The main point of this post is to attempt to reverse the fact that too many of my photos live and die in my Lightroom library without ever seeing the light of day. I'll hurriedly post one or two on Instagram and then move on to whatever the next big thing is!
You know, like an easily distracted 9 year old.
Anyway! Here are a few shots! Also, I'm still trying to figure out what life/this website is all about! I'll update with any findings.
